Job Title: Nutritional Services Worker I
Status: Full-time / Part Time
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Nutritional Services Director or Supervisor, the Nutritional Services Worker I performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preparing food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
- Prepares and delivers items as requested by patient care units or patients.
- Maintains trayline in a clean, neat and organized manner.
- Prepares special diet foods as necessary.
- Delivers food carts to patient care units. Returns carts to kitchen at designated times.
- Loads and oversees dishwashers.
- Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Nutritional Services Director/ Supervisor.
- Responsible for observing infection prevention and control practices at all times.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety.
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Completes annual education requirements.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
- Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards.
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
- Wears identification while on duty.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety, emergency management and infection prevention and control.
- Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directive to staff and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
